The WiFi hub is a small device that unlocks even more smart features for you Glue Lock. Plug it into an electrical outlet and pair it with your Lock to get started.
The hub enables you to connect with your lock through a WiFi signal. This allows you to lock and unlock your door from anywhere in the world. If you are close enough to the lock, bluetooth unlocking will enable instead.
Glue detects when your door is opened and sends you a notification if you don’t lock it after a period of time.
With the Glue app, you can easily see if your door is locked or unlocked.
The hub is a vital part of the circuit that enables our latest door tracking features. Inside the Glue Lock are sensors that collect the data to do with the lock bolt and door position, then requiring the wifi hub to transmit that data to your phone.
The hub must be installed near the door, within 5 meters to receive the Wi-Fi signal.
Remote operations instead use your device's network connection to contact the hub paired to the lock.
Hub updates are triggered by your Glue App and takes around 5 minutes to complete. You do not need to have the app open, or be within range once this has begun, just ensure your hub is connected to a network. It is important to update your hub regularly as this ensures hub performance. If you’re having any issues with your hub, updating the firmware could resolve it.
One WiFi hub can pair up with one Glue Lock. It is possible to have several Locks and Hubs in your app, but each device needs a unqiue pairing. There may be times when support will ask you to unpair or remove your hub from the app in order to troubleshoot any issues, but this is rare. Best bet is always to make sure both the Lock and Hub are running on the newest updated version.
